J onas is eleven years old and he leaves in a society that has no pain, no memories, no colors, that everyone is the same. Jonas is very intelligent, he has different eyes than everyone, and he sometimes can see colors which that in the community doesn't exist. At the age of twelve they are assigned to make a job based in their abilities. In the ceremony of twelve Jonas is assigned like the receiver of memory. The new job of Jonas is to keep the memories of the community. The memories of pain, war, and emotion. Jonas receive the good and bad memories of the community from an old man that Jonas called him the Giver. The Giver transmit the memories to Jonas by placing his hands on Jona's back. As Jonas received the love, terror, happy, sad, cold, sunny, and other memories he realized that the life in the community was empty. Jonas start helping people by transmitting memories.
This book its very interesting because it explain life in a society that doesn't has memories. That all the people are the same, they don't have happiness, or sadness. So I like this story very much because it's different to our normal life. I will like to see the movie so I can compare and see how are the lives of that people.
